On-Line Program
This is how it works: 1. Visit the following website... click on the icon on the bottom right side of this screen. www.wpdsastudents.org Read about the program we offer through the WPDSA. Notice what technical specifications the system requires to run efficiently. You will need the MP4 video app in order to watch any videos. The segments are all on a timer and it is designed that way in order to fulfill the time requirements (you can't speed through the segments). If you have dial-up this is not for your teenager. NOTE: You need to sign-up with Trinity Driving School first. Reading about the requirements of the WPDSA on-line program were important before signing up. 2. Go to www.trinityds.net and go to Sign-Up Now! Choose the online option in classroom options. Once we receive confirmation that you properly enrolled, we will send out a contract. Once we get the contract agreement signed we will release the necessary information for you to revisit the www.wpdsastudents.org website and register. The WPDSA website will then send us a student id & password information that we will then forward onto you. It may take up to 3 days before your son or daughter can begin the course if we do not get notification. 3. The student can work on the the on-line program for up to 2 hours per day. The system will keep track of the student's daily progress. We will be able to view the progress chart on our end. 4. Once a student under 15 1/2 finishes all the units they will receive an appropriate dated MV3001 form which allows them to go to the DMV and take a temps test on or after that date. If the student who is 15 1/2 already finishes unit 30 we will give them a signed MV3001 form and they can go to the DMV and take their temps test. They will be expected to finish the remaining units though before we certify them on the DECC system. If we are holding classes at the particular point that the student turns 15 1/2 years old & is at least 1/2 way through the online program we will administer the temps test in our office ( by appointment ). If the student isn't old enough and we are not having classes at that particular point there is no rush to do anything before they turn 15 1/2 years of age because they need to be 15 1/2 years old to take the temps test at the DMV. We can give the test at an earlier age though & post date the MV3001. 5. Once the student obtains their temps they can begin to schedule behind-the-wheel lessons with Trinity Driving School via phone or text. The student will complete their assigned number of behind the wheel lessons over a period of 6 months. ( note: on-line students pick-up & drop-off points for behind-the-wheel lessons are in Medina, Hortonville or a Greenville location ). 6. The program does not utilize audio assist except for certain embedded videos (MP4 video app necessary) so your son or daughter will have to read the screen information. It demands their full attention. 7. The WPDSA program will not run efficiently if your firewalls are set high. 8. Another common mistake most people make with their personal computers is that they do not actually power them 'off' at least weekly. When you power the computer off it clears the cache (the memory). This will help the computer run programs more efficiently. It is also important that you do not 'bookmark' the site, you need to login each time you start doing the 4 unit maximum daily in order for the system to recognize that you are following the state requirements.
